The Cister Route launches a dedicated website for the GR 175

The county councils of Alt Camp, Conca de Barberà and Urgell, promoters of the Cister Route, have launched a dedicated website for the GR 175, a high-quality hiking and cycling route that crosses some of the most emblematic landscapes of the three counties.

The GR 175 route is currently the second most visited topic on the Cister Route website (www.larutadelcister.info), after the Cistercian monasteries. This fact has led to the creation of a platform that makes it easier to plan the route and provides updated and essential information for travelling along the GR safely and in an environmentally respectful way. The website responds to the main needs and queries of hikers and cycle tourists, and becomes a new resource for enjoying the surroundings of the monasteries of Santes Creus, Poblet and Vallbona, as well as the natural and cultural heritage of the villages along the route.

The new website includes detailed descriptions of the stages to be completed on foot or by mountain bike, information about accommodation and services, family-friendly routes around the monasteries and itineraries adapted for people with disabilities. It also provides recommendations for travelling safely and respectfully through the natural environment, as well as a section with informative and useful content for GR 175 users. Currently, the website is available in Catalan, and Spanish and other language versions will gradually be added.

With this initiative, funded by the NextGeneration funds of the European Union, the councils that make up the Cister Route reaffirm their commitment to sustainable tourism, the quality of the visitor experience, and the promotion of the natural and cultural environment of the counties of Alt Camp, Conca de Barberà and Urgell.
